Heirs of Time (Ajan jälkeläiset) is a collection of views painted with water colours on a bowl of water and then captured as photographs through long exposure time.

Painting on water is like writing a diary entry from decades ago - an attempt to reach what is lost and resists a clear form. I painted outlines of various views from memory; Italian villages, nocturnal gardens and overgrown forest paths. 

The resulting photographs document the desperate process of recollection - as wandering masses of colour and entwining shapes, with only a haunting suggestion of the scene from which they originate.

The photographs are printed on aquarelle paper. Works from the series have been exhibited at a solo show in Mikkeli Photographic Centre in 2014 and at Lokal Gallery in Helsinki in 2015.
